This fee covers a thorough review of every application. In fact, we still spend even more time reviewing applications, but opted to keep the fee low to democratize the process. However, a fee is necessary to ensure only those serious about participating apply so we can give the best attention to the most deserving applicants based on true interest and ability to complete the chosen project. There are no refunds for this fee under any circumstances.
